Remember to place a bag of non-perishable food items near your mailbox Saturday, May 11, date of the 21st annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive, organized nationwide by the National Association of Letter Carriers union.
It’s the nation’s largest one-day food drive, and Letter Carriers throughout the Metro Area will be participating. Last year St. Paul letter carriers collected more than 300,000 pounds of food, which they delivered to food shelves operated by Second Harvest Heartland.
Letter carriers will bring the donations to waiting trucks at several Cub Foods locations. Volunteers will be needed to help unload vehicles and load the larger trucks. For a list of locations, and to volunteer, visit www.2harvest.org.
