‘Community conversations’ around responsible banking begin Dec. 3

esl-bank-bannerA series of community conversations about the City of St. Paul’s new Responsible Banking Ordinance will convene Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the East Side Freedom Library.

The new ordinance requires the City of St. Paul to look at how well financial institutions are serving the community before deciding which banks benefit from the city’s business.

The Community Reinvestment Advisory Committee and the Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation’s Community Connections coalition are sponsoring the series of community conversations, which will consider what a more just and fair banking system would look like – and how St. Paul’s new ordinance can make it a reality.

The first community conversation will begin at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3. To RSVP, call Peter Rachleff at 651-774-8687 or e-mail eastsidefreedomlibrary@gmail.com.

The ESFL is at 1105 Greenbrier St.
