The state’s failure to keep school funding steady has forced most school districts to seek local levies.

“We’re hoping to take care of projects that most volunteer groups can’t handle,” District 77’s Ross Olson said.

“We’re excited and honored to welcome these three local unions into our labor family,” St. Paul Regional Labor Federation President Bobby Kasper said.

Minnesota’s Building Trades unions are behind an effort to restock the pipeline of workers entering the industry with with women, veterans and people of color.
